Scott Eblin Bio

Scott Eblin draws on his experience as a nationally recognized Fortune 500 executive innovator to advise leaders on succeeding at the next level. As president of The Eblin Group, Scott works with clients nationally and internationally to help them successfully navigate the changing landscape of leadership. Scott currently coaches and advises executives in such organizations as AOL, Capital One, Northrop Grumman, Sallie Mae, Sanofi-Aventis and The World Bank.

Scott has over 20 years of experience as an advisor and coach to the senior leadership of diverse organizations in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Prior to forming his own firm, he served as the human resources vice president for the largest division of a Fortune 500 energy company. In that role, he implemented change management strategies that helped transform the division from a bankrupt, command and control utility company to one that was customer focused, employee oriented and an industry leader in profitability. For their work, Scott's HR department was recognized as among the most innovative in a national competition.

While Scott's experience extends across a broad range of organizations and situations, the common denominator in his career is a unique ability to help organizations achieve strategic goals by building the capacity of their leaders. Some of his career highlights include serving as the youngest vice president in the history of a rapidly growing financial services company that was named by U.S. Banker as one of the nation's ten best large banks. His public sector career experience includes service with the Governor of West Virginia as the lead executive in charge of an initiative to develop grassroots leadership for economic growth. Early in his career, Scott led a program sponsored by the Council of the Americas to build the leadership of chambers of commerce of developing countries in the Caribbean Basin. He also worked in the public finance division of a leading Wall Street investment bank.

Scott is an honors graduate of Davidson College with a degree in international relations. He also holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University. He is a graduate of Georgetown University's leadership coaching certificate program and also serves on the program faculty. He is a Professional Certified Coach and is a member of the International Coach Federation.
